What is special about the LMR200 coaxial cable?

When selecting coaxial cables, we generally encounter two types of models: those starting with “RG” and those starting with “LMR”. We have already introduced the RG series of coaxial cables. This article will focus on the LMR series of coaxial cables and provide a brief analysis.
LMR is a new generation of radio frequency coaxial cables, which offer greater flexibility, ease of installation, and lower cost, and are used as transmission lines for aircraft, satellites, and communication antennas. LMR cables are low-loss coaxial cables, especially at high frequencies, where their low-loss performance is superior. The number following LMR is a rough estimate of the cable thickness.
Here we illustrate two types of LMR coaxial cables. LMR 200 is an outdoor rated flexible low-loss communication coaxial cable, typically with a 50 ohm impedance and low PIM, making it highly suitable for short-term antenna feeder operations. LMR 400 is also a flexible communication coaxial cable with a 50 ohm impedance, used in wireless communication systems and antenna feeders, with the goal of replacing RG 8 coaxial cables. Below is an introduction to the common LMR series of coaxial cables.
